We don’t take this lightly and always work to maintain people’s trust in us. This is why we’re pleased to announce that Tinder has become the first dating app in the world to achieve ISO/IEC 27701:2019 (ISO 27701) certification, the international standard for Privacy Information Management System (PIMS).
ISO 27701 is an international management system standard for data privacy and protection, which specifies requirements and provides guidelines to establish, implement, maintain, and continuously improve a Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) and comply with privacy laws around the world, including GDPR. This certification is part of the ISO 27000 series, a globally recognized framework for information security management, and builds on Tinder’s growing list of security accolades, including ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and ISO/IEC 27017:2015, which were both awarded for our Information Security Management System.
Tinder has achieved all of these certifications following rigorous and thorough independent assessments of our PIMS and Information Security Management System (ISMS). In order to meet compliance requirements of the ISO 27701 standard, our Security and Privacy teams worked extensively to implement and further enhance Tinder’s physical, operational, technical, security, and privacy controls and underwent extensive audits by multiple security and privacy experts.
These certificates were issued by Coalfire ISO, an accredited management systems certification body via both the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), clearly showcasing the readiness and diligence of our privacy program.
People on dating sites and apps need to feel confident that their personal information is protected. At Tinder, the privacy of our members is a top priority, and it will remain at the core of how we build and design the platform and ensure they continue trusting us to help them make meaningful connections.
