The Role:

 Multiple positions available. Collaborate with engineers in conceptualizing, planning and executing medium-sized data engineering initiative working with a variety of stakeholders. Work with internal engineering and product teams to identify opportunities for improvements or feature enhancements to our data platforms and to improve overall engineering efficiency. Work on pipelines ingesting data greater than 1gb per second. Design and build data platforms and frameworks for processing high volumes of data, in real time as well as batch, that will be used across engineering teams. Drive self-time capabilities for the engineering teams to easily onboard their critical data workloads onto our platforms. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to coordinate with engineering, analytics, and other teams to assess the cost and value of existing and potential projects. Research and evaluate new technologies in the big data space to guide continuous improvement. Collaborate with multifunctional engineers across the company to help tune the performance of large data applications to drive cost savings. Work on initiatives to ensure stability, performance and reliability of company’s data infrastructure. Position allows telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. Salary $160,000 - $265,000 per year.  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as Software Engineer, Software Developer or any position/occupation/job title involving data software engineering. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as Software Engineer, Software Developer or any position/occupation/job title involving data software engineering. Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience performing data software engineering (including leading and collaborating with Data Infrastructure, Data Engineering and Product teams across web and apps) using Java and Python; 3 years of professional experience working on big data systems and projects/products at scale for a global company; 3 years of professional experience handling large transaction volumes (at least 1 million transactions per second) of data and performing data queries using querying languages including SQL, deriving insights from the data, and strategizing future roadmap decisions based on those insights; 3 years of professional experience building data platforms using cloud native technologies (Docker and Kubernetes); 3 years of professional experience performing software engineering practices and employing best practices for the full software development life cycle (including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations). CONTACT: Please email resume to: Lauren.Lozano@Match.com.
