We’re on the hunt for a Director of Communications with expert knowledge of the UK media landscape. You’ll be an expert storyteller, knowing how to promote and protect the Tinder brand. You’ll be involved in all business areas, from company narratives to new feature launches, highjacking cool news agendas to creating your own ‘tentpole’ moments.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and all-round team player. They’ll live and breathe the UK media, understanding what’s hot and what’s…getting cool.  They’ll have a rich experience in consumer-facing brands and have their finger on the pulse of the evolving media landscape and where Gen Z get their information. Experience with Nordic media and managing Internationally is a plus.

They’ll be helping to drive the strategy of one of Tinder’s most mature markets (the UK). Equally, they won’t be afraid to roll up their sleeves as they’ll be expected to directly handle media enquiries as well as agency management. 

As a generalist role, this role encompasses brand reputation-driven strategy (consumer-focused comms), product communications (new features, innovation, and trust and safety), and corporate communications (crisis, reputation management, and executive positioning). If you're known for your practical (read: level-headed), willing-to-take-action approach, and creative brilliance, then this is the job you've been waiting for.

The Communications Director will report directly to the VP of Communications, EMEA, and operate from our London office in a hybrid work environment that requires in-office presence twice a week.

As the Director of Communications, your scope will include:

  • Orchestrating and leading communications strategies for Northern Europe related to product and company narratives, as well as new product features and updates.
  • Collaborating with our parent company, Match Group, to promote trust, safety, and inclusivity narratives.
  • Partner with regional teams to create impactful global campaigns and brand narratives.
  • Devising and implementing a crisp, concise, and creative executive communications strategy.
  • Directly engaging with media, Influencers and external partners.
  • A focus on editorial outlets social channels and content that works in this area.
  • Crafting product-specific messaging and collaborating closely with product marketing, and safety teams.
  • Budget management.
  • Team management.
  • Supervising agency resources and planning.
