The Role:

As a Staff Product Designer within the NEXT team, you'll lead the charge in crafting innovative features that explore new horizons of dating to improve the landscape of dating in the 21st century. You will work as a part of a cross-functional team that explores and shapes exciting ideas into realized fully concepts.

Where you’ll work:

This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration two times per week. This position is located in West Hollywood and will offer relocation assistance.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct deep user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and desires of daters. 
  • Ideate and prototype brand new feature ideas — focusing on enhancing dating as a whole experience. Analyze user feedback and performance data to iterate on your teams’ ideas. 
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers and data analysts to bring new concepts to life. 
  • Lead design thinking workshops and brainstorming sessions to foster innovation within the team. 
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the business, aligning design initiatives with broader company objectives. 
  • Mentor junior designers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the design team. 
  • Stay abreast of emerging design trends and technologies, integrating them into your work to keep Tinder at the forefront of the industry. 
  • Utilize and contribute to the Tinder design system, ensuring consistency and high quality across all user touchpoints. 
  • Share progress and collaborate on project tracking using tools like JIRA and Monday.com, ensuring transparent communication and effective agile project management.

You’ll need:

  • Extensive experience in user experience and interaction design for mobile platforms. 
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to solve complex design problems with engaging user experiences with a high degree of craft. 
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, ProtoPie, and Principle. 
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and apply user research and data analytics to inform design decisions. 
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating design concepts and decisions clearly. 
  • Creativity and strategic thinking, with a knack for identifying opportunities for innovation within the product. 
  • Leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience guiding junior designers and influencing product direction. 
  • A deep passion for understanding and meeting the needs of daters. 
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, quickly adjusting to changing priorities and embracing new challenges with enthusiasm. 
  • A mentality that helps foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and inclusivity within your team and the broader organization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with designing for consumers — particularly for social platforms or digital communities. 
  • Experience with advanced prototyping tools such as ProtoPie, Framer, or Origami Studio for high-fidelity prototype development. Knowledge of the latest trends in dating and social interaction, with insights into how technology can facilitate meaningful connections.

  • A background in motion design or animation, enhancing user interfaces with engaging visuals. An encyclopedic knowledge of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and Google’s Material Design guidelines. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. 
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles, ensuring that products are usable by as wide an audience as possible. 
  • Familiarity with data-driven design decision-making, including A/B testing and analytics tools. 
  • Business acumen, with the ability to align design initiatives with strategic business goals.

This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
